Archives Leaflet
King’s College London Archives are among the most extensive and varied higher education collections in the UK. They include the institutional records of King’s since 1828, records relating to King’s College Hospital and the medical schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, and records relating to other institutions that have merged with or were created by King’s. The brief was to design a leaflet to be visually consistent with the new Foyle Special Collections Leaflet, with a similar emphasis on representing their unique items as prominently as possible. The resulting publication is an 8 page, gatefold, DL Leaflet which balances the text and image content in an informative and eye-catching format.

The King’s College London GKT School of Medical Education is responsible for the education and training of medical students. It is part of the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine and draws on the expertise of teachers from across the multi-faculty university and their clinical partners. The School launched its new medical curriculum with a series of events earlier in the year accompanied by a range of materials that we designed specifically for the occasion. These included programmes, large-format text and image only posters, postcards and also place cards & menus.

The Foyle Special Collections Library at King’s College London holds over 180,000 items – printed books, pamphlets and periodicals, as well as maps, slides, manuscripts, typescripts and photographs – ranging in date from the 15th century to the present day. Many items are extremely rare; some are unique. The team at the library briefed us to redesign their previous leaflet with the emphasis on representing as many of their beautiful items as possible.
